Kansas issues threats to Nebraska over water allocations

The top water official in Kansas has sent a letter to the Nebraska NRD
demanding compensation for crop losses in his state in 2005 and 2006, and calling for Nebraska to shut down thousands of irrigation wells
. The Kansas attorney general is threatening to sue
over the matter, and Nebraska's governor and attorney general are defending their handling
of the water dispute.
