Fire in Maquoketa took every drop the water plant could produce

A fire in Maquoketa last weekend took so much water to fight that the city's water-treatment plant pumped at capacity for two days just to keep up with demand and refill the city's water towers after the fire. Portable fire pumps and fire trucks often rely on a substantial supply of municipal water in order to do their jobs.
