Sioux City may extend its storm sewer fees
February 1, 2008

A storm sewer fee that Sioux City has had in place since 1990 is set to expire at the start of 2011, and the city's administrative director says he wants the city council to cancel the expiration date and keep the fee in place indefinitely. Both state and Federal agencies are increasing their scrutiny of stormwater management, forcing some communities to separate their combined sanitary and storm sewers, and encouraging others to improve their stormwater containment and soil stabilization practices.
