Omaha's $1.5 billion sewer bill

Thanks to Federal mandates about separating stormwater and sanitary sewers, the Omaha area will be
spending $1.5 billion over the next few years to replace much of its sewer system. The
Municipal Utilities District, which provides
drinking water and natural gas services to the city, wants to take advantage of the disruption to replace many of its existing water and gas lines throughout the city, too.
