Omaha's $1.5 billion sewer bill
December 12, 2007

Thanks to Federal mandates about separating stormwater and sanitary sewers, the Omaha area will be spending $1.5 billion over the next few years to replace much of its sewer system. The Municipal Utilities District, which provides drinking water and natural gas services to the city, wants to take advantage of the disruption to replace many of its existing water and gas lines throughout the city, too.
