Sioux City considers its water future

Noting that several projects, including the Lewis and Clark water system and a proposed oil refinery in nearby Union County, South Dakota, could consume large amounts of water from the Missouri River, some Sioux City officials are becoming concerned about the long-term viability of their water supply. Concerns about an adequate supply of water for municipal water treatment are a relatively new issue for much of Iowa.
