Water for sale -- but not in a bottle

Either the state of Nebraska or the Middle Republican Natural Resources District in the southwestern part of the state will be picking up the tab for a sizeable water purchase from nearby irrigation districts to help the state meet its obligations to Kansas under the Republican River Compact.
