Northeast Iowa dam fails
July 26, 2010

The Lake Delhi dam failed this weekend after a massive rain complex put an overwhelming amount of water into the Maquoketa River basin. The river was first dammed at Delhi in the 1920s. Dam failures are a rare occurrence in Iowa, though we have more than 3,300 state-regulated dams.
