Container-ship accident dumps 53,000 gallons of fuel oil in San Francisco Bay

An accident like the collision of the Cosco Busan with the Bay Bridge can cause serious environmental damage, especially if oil or other chemicals spill and spread over a wide area. A variety of floating geomembrane containment systems can be used to reduce the impact of such spills by containing them into a limited area from which they can be removed before reaching shore.
