Nebraska legislature finds water problems create sticky situations

The Natural Resources Committee is debating a couple of bills that would restrict water allocations for irrigators in order to keep the state in compliance with its agreements to share water with Kansas. A number of related issues have come into play as well, including the growth of vegetation in the riverbeds, which dramatically reduces the amount of water throughput in a stream.
