Sioux Falls water rates going up to pay for Lewis and Clark

The Lewis and Clark regional water project will include service to the growing Sioux Falls metro, so residents there will pay higher water rates to help cover the costs of expanding the city's water supply. A trust fund with $16 million set aside for the project has been used for lots of other purposes, which is why today's rates must go up.
