Patterson Horizontal Split-Case Pumps DJ Gongol & Associates represents the Patterson Pump Company, a subsidiary of the Gorman-Rupp Company, in the states of Iowa and Nebraska. Patterson pumps are made for a variety of applications in both clean water and wastewater applications.

Patterson is a world leader in the manufacture of horizontal split-case pumps. Horizontal split-case pumps (HSC's) are designed to deliver the most efficient and economical pumping of clean water at moderate heads of any pump design. Patterson horizontal split-case pumps are designed to be simple and durable, delivering exceptional pumping service at a minimum of energy consumption.

Patterson HSC pumps are machined for precision alignment, and the impellers are statically balanced and dynamically balanced in order to ensure that Patterson horizontal split-case pumps operate at the highest efficiencies possible in a large pump.

Patterson horizontal split-case pumps can deliver performance from 50 gallons per minute (gpm) to 100,000 gallons per minute at total dynamic heads of up to 550'. Discharge sizes range from 1.5" to 48".

Performance Characteristics
Pump Type Min GPM Max GPM Max TDH Min Disch Max Disch Service
Horizontal Split-Case Pumps 50 100,000 550' 1.5" 48" water boosting and water circulation

While most Patterson horizontal split-case models perform well in the standard single-volute design, they are also available in a dual-volute design for high head conditions which significantly reduces radial thrust and allows the pump to operate more efficiently in the long run.
