Residents of Hills reject plan for city water system

The town of Hills, Iowa, has been dealing with perchlorate contamination of local groundwater for several years, and under EPA orders considered a brand-new citywide water treatment system. Voters, however, rejected the plan, which means that they will continue to use individual wells until the city can come up with a new plan that may involve clustered wells or some other alternative.
