Year-old "green roof" doing well on Des Moines library

The green roof made up of seedum that sits on top of Des Moines' downtown library was an expensive project designed to cut down on energy costs and control some of the stormwater runoff that inevitably results from building construction. Even with the help of green rooftops, there's a lot of work to be done to manage stormwater and the pollution that goes with it.
