The talk follows lunch on Wednesday and is one of many presentations we make available to industry conferences, engineering firms, college programs, and other eligible organizations free of charge.

Mechanical aerators for lagoons

One of the best-known options for lagoon aeration is a floating mechanical aerator like the Tornado from Fluence (formerly RWL Water). These operate on the principle that air can be induced to enter a submerged tube, where it can be broken apart by the shear of a small propeller to create small bubbles with a useful amount of surface area over which oxygen can be transferred into the water.

The Tornado aerator is grease-lubricated for a long and reliable service life, and uses premium-efficiency motors for low operating costs. They come with a variety of options for ease of installation and performance, including floats, erosion shields, and low-level legs. For even better oxygen transfer, optional blowers are available.
