Mechanical aerators for lagoons

September 21, 2016

One of the best-known options for lagoon aeration is a floating mechanical aerator like the Tornado from Fluence (formerly RWL Water). These operate on the principle that air can be induced to enter a submerged tube, where it can be broken apart by the shear of a small propeller to create small bubbles with a useful amount of surface area over which oxygen can be transferred into the water.

The Tornado aerator is grease-lubricated for a long and reliable service life, and uses premium-efficiency motors for low operating costs. They come with a variety of options for ease of installation and performance, including floats, erosion shields, and low-level legs. For even better oxygen transfer, optional blowers are available.

If you have applications in lagoons, sludge holding tanks, or activated sludge tanks, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Edited in March 2018 to reflect a corporate name change from RWL Water to Fluence.
