New atlas reveals how water structures life on land

The Times Comprehensive Atlas of the World has been updated with new images and statistics that reveal a number of significant changes to the Earth's surface over time, including several major bodies of water that have shrunk due to environmental degradation -- particularly the Aral Sea and Lake Chad. These significant changes in water resources are just a sign of the increasing importance that water rights will play over the next century.
