New rule requires tougher scrutiny of groundwater sources

A new EPA rule will require utilities that utilize groundwater sources to enhance monitoring for pathogens like viruses and bacteria and to improve disinfection in some cases. The EPA says that 100 million Americans get their water from utilities that use underground water sources.
